Full Contact Training Day
The Ching Mo Centre held its first of this year's full contact training seminars, the idea of these seminars is to give each student a chance to put into practise some of the basic techniques which they have been learning in class. After a short introduction in to the correct use of the protective equipment and the rules for the day,

The session started off with a fitness warm up to push each of the students through the limits of a high adrenaline and high stress and to realise the bodies reaction when the "adrenaline dump"happens, and their ability to cope under pressure with balance and coordination being pushed to its limits. The students were then split into groups to practise the fight and focus techniques, this method allowed the student to start at a slow light controlled pace before taking part in the contact sparring sections after which the session ended with all students shaking hands. |
North Wales Chi Sau Seminar
This month we held our first North Wales Seminar for Sifu Dave McQuillan the senior Ching Mo instructor in Wales, the seminar was held at " The Knight Shop" in their main training hall, The seminar was attended by students from Sifu Dave's class in Abergele and the classes of Sifu Pam LeGier in Prestatyn and Sifu George Politis in Bangor.
Once again the standard of the students was of a high level and everyone was eager to train and develop, the seminar covered the close quarters aspects of Chi Sau and how Chi Sau is applied to a grappling situation and the basics of the correct method applied in sticking to the hands for control, a method more favoured by Grandmaster Ip Ching as opposed to many schools that concentrate more on the hitting aspect. |
